Built in the open.
Tested on ourselves.

The workbench of Datamart Inc. Open source libraries, research notes, and the tools we build for our own team. Some are live. Some are retired. All of it is real code.

Experiments

Everything on the bench.

Libraries we maintain, products we launched, and private tools that run Datamart day to day. Each one gets a number, a status, and its own specimen.

Lab rules

Three rules keep the bench honest.

01

Build it for ourselves first.

Every experiment starts as something we needed. If it does not survive our own daily use, it does not leave the lab.

02

Open it when it helps others.

Libraries and tools go public once they are useful beyond our walls. Most of them ship under the Apache 2.0 license.

03

Retire things honestly.

Every experiment carries a status. When something stops being maintained, we say so instead of letting it rot quietly.

Status key

  • Live

    Running and in use today.

  • Stable

Done, working, and rarely needs to change.

  • In the lab

Being built or tested right now.

  • Paused

Parked. The idea is still good, the timing was not.

  • Archived

Retired. Kept public because someone may learn from it.

Notebook

Field notes from the lab.

Research, postmortems, and what an experiment taught us. Written by the engineers who ran it.

Notes land here when an experiment teaches us something worth sharing. Have a problem you want us to dig into?
